From the Pastor’s Desk….
Where has the summer gone!! It seems like yesterday we were preparing for the Easter Season and I blinked and boom…. Summer is over, school is back in session, and we are getting ready for fall and winter. Time never disappoints us… it’s never late!
This year our church has been busy, we have been called to reach out and grow the church. Even though we have lost several of our devoted members because of illness or passing away, our mission continues. The Apostles and Paul never had it easy, but it is an honor to work with JESUS, sharing His message that He came for all and His desire to save us from this world.
Because of this calling … We have welcomed several new families into our church. The Young Adults have been reaching out in the community, providing a free 250 year celebration picnic this summer and are now planning a live nativity as an outreach in the community on December 20th, here they plan on handing out Jesus’ good news with some Christmas cookies and hot chocolate as they drive by. Sounds like a wonderful day!
Others have again donated their time to make soup for the Flax Scutching and begin preparations for the Free Thanksgiving Dinner they provide for the community. The women have been busy preparing little bags for visiting children, making the cookies for the bake sale and the coming nativity while helping with all food events. The men’s ministry began in the summer, they study the Word, and they give a place just for the men in our church. Sunday School begins Oct 4th and we are off!
We are still praying for a praise team to develop of come and we are anticipating being able to stream our services for those that are homebound. As we grow, we realized how blessed we are! We have become a church with vision and unity reaching out spreading the saving grace that Jesus offers everyone.
